Kevin's distinguished journey in legal technology began at Williams & Connolly LLP, where he honed his skills in eDiscovery and legal project management. His expertise grew through progressive leadership roles at Cobra Legal Solutions LLC in Chennai, India, and at TrustPoint International in New York and Washington, DC, where he provided strategic advice and managed client relationships. Kevin further strengthened his leadership credentials at Compliance Discovery Solutions and Hire Counsel in Washington, DC, focusing on eDiscovery data management and process innovation.
His tenure at Holland & Knight LLP, and its predecessor Thompson & Knight LLP, solidified his reputation as a leader in legal support services delivery and litigation support management. As Discovery Counsel and Vice President, Analytics and Review Operations at HaystackID in Dallas, TX, Kevin played a pivotal role in overseeing the Managed Review Division, with a focus on operations, review management, and strategic planning. His innovative approach in leveraging the latest in automation, data analytics, and predictive technologies and artificial intelligence has distinguished him as a visionary leader in legal project and process management.
Kevin's academic achievements mirror his impressive professional journey. He holds a Juris Doctor from the Chicago-Kent College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Illinois. Notably, he completed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT) at the University of Oxford, which paved the way for his admission as a Solicitor in England and Wales. He is also admitted to the bar in Texas, the District of Columbia, and Illinois. Alongside his professional endeavors, Kevin is an active Director at the Master's Conference, a leading legal conference that focuses on legal technology and data discovery. Kevin has played a significant role in expanding the conference to new cities globally, greatly benefiting legal professionals in local communities. The Master's Conference, celebrating its 18th year in 2024, is a boutique thought leadership forum focusing on current challenges in the legal space, including eDiscovery, data privacy, AI, and cybersecurity. Kevin’s involvement in the conference underscores his commitment to sharing knowledge and best practices, fostering professional growth and development in the legal industry.
Apart from his professional pursuits, Kevin is deeply invested in community service; having served as a Council member and Mayor Pro Tem in Sunnyvale, Texas as well as dedicating his time to providing pro bono legal support for veterans. In addition to being a prolific writer and thought leader, Kevin has contributed to various industry publications, most recent being the Legal Technology News, Relativity Blog, and the DC Bar Litigation Section Newsletter. Furthermore, he holds multiple certifications in legal technology and privacy.
